Terms of service
Effective 25 July 2026
These terms govern your use of Materiality. By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to them.
What the service is
Materiality presents public company filings and market data, calculates figures from them, and generates written analysis using a language model. It is a research tool. It is not investment advice and does not create an advisory relationship, as set out in full in the investment disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.
Your account
- You must be at least 18 and provide an email address you control.
- Accounts are for one person. Do not share credentials or resell access.
- You are responsible for activity under your account, so keep your password secure and tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your account settings.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your paid access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account reverts to the free plan.
- If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend paid features if it continues to fail.
- Prices can change. Existing subscribers will be told before a change takes effect and may cancel before it applies.
Cancellations and refunds are described on the refunds page.
Usage allowances
AI generations are metered. Each plan includes a number of newly generated analyses per month, with a separate daily cap to prevent bursts. Viewing a previously generated analysis, refreshing prices, and every calculated score are unmetered and do not count against your allowance. Your current allowance and remaining balance are shown in your account settings.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically extract content from the service.
- Resell, redistribute, or republish generated analysis as your own product.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, entitlement checks, rate limits, or usage allowances.
- Use the service to provide regulated financial advice to others without being licensed to do so.
- Interfere with the service's operation or attempt to gain access to systems or data that are not yours.
Content and ownership
The software, design, and the way data is presented belong to us. Underlying filing and market data belong to their respective sources and is used under their terms.
What you write stays yours. Portfolios, theses, journal entries, and notes are your content; we store and process them only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. Analysis generated for you is yours to use personally, subject to the restriction on resale above.
Availability and accuracy
The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. Third-party data may be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and filings themselves contain errors and get restated. No guarantee is made that the service will be uninterrupted, that any figure is accurate, or that any analysis is correct.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for investment losses, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Suspension and termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, and will refund any unused portion of a prepaid period where the breach was not deliberate. On termination, your access ends and your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change. The effective date above will be updated, and material changes will be notified to account holders. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Who you are contracting with
Materiality is operated by Kaleo Kailiuli. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States. Questions go to norrowstudiossupport@gmail.com.
